What to Know

The Syracuse Orange have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. 'Cuse and the Virginia Tech Hokies will face off in an ACC battle at 12:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Lane Stadium/Worsham Field. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

The Orange were close but no cigar last week as they fell 17-14 to the Clemson Tigers. Syracuse's loss came about despite a quality game from RB Sean Tucker, who picked up 157 yards on the ground on 22 carries. Tucker's longest run was for 54 yards in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, a win for Virginia Tech just wasn't in the stars last week as the squad never even grasped a temporary lead. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 28-7 walloping at the Pittsburgh Panthers' hands. The Hokies were in a tough position by the half, with the score already sitting at 21 to nothing. QB Braxton Burmeister had a pretty forgettable game, throwing one interception with only 4.19 yards per passing attempt.

'Cuse is expected to lose this next one by 3.5. They might be worth taking a chance on against the spread, however, as they are currently on a five-game streak of ATS wins.

'Cuse is now 3-4 while Virginia Tech sits at 3-3. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before kickoff: The Orange are 187th worst in the nation in passing yards per game, with only 172.3 on average. The Hokies have experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 189th fewest yards per game in the nation, having accrued only 311.8 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
